Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

Follicular Unit Extraction (F.U.E.) is a highly specialized method and is not a viable solution for rectifying extended bald areas like in the stages of Norwood VI or even Norwood IV. FUE can be used for covering small areas.

The FUE method involves the extraction of single follicular units, or individual hairs one by one, from the donor area and then transplanting them on the recipient area.FUE hairs should be extracted from the permanent hair-bearing regions only. Follicles which are extracted very near to the crown or nape of the neck might go into baldness if the donor area possesses a still likeliness of balding.

At our center, we follow the most advanced method and the latest technology available in the market, called the power assisted follicular unit extraction. Since we use very small sized punches, the wound thus formed heals without rendering much disconfiguration.

In general FUT method is the most proffered methods of hair transplantation globally, but since we ensure that our customers get the glimpse of the entire picture, here are the pros and cons :

Benefits we offer to our patients in the FUE method :

  • Minimum out of body time.
  • Electronic counter counts the number of hairs transplanted, thus our clients get the best ethical practice available in the market.
  • Our expert surgeons provide high speed extraction.
  • Ultra hygienic operation theater at par with international medical standards.
  • No sutures/ stitches are needed.
  • The patient can don short hair as there is a complete absence of a single linear scar.
  • Very short post-operative recovery time, and there is no numbness or infection too, in the donor area.
  • Independence of choosing the donor area – any body part like chest, back, buttocks or beard can be selected as the donor area, which cannot be done by FUT method.

Demerits of FUE hair transplant :

  • The number of hair follicles that can be extracted per session is limited.
  • Many cases of over harvesting are also seen in patients.
